SUMMER OVERNIGHT RIDING CAMPS
Come live with us for a week of fabulous FUN!!! Enjoy home cooked Southern meals, hours in the saddle, plus night rides under the stars, unique craft projects, and lots more!!! At our riding camp you'll make special friends and lasting memories being part of our small group. It's truly much more than just a riding camp!
Bring your own pony or "adopt" one of ours for the week. Each camper will receive a water bottle, a tee shirt, plus a fanny pack for new campers. (Returning campers should remember to bring theirs.) The fanny packs are necessary to carry water on our trairides to stay well hydrated in our summer heat and the camera to record fun memories. Also, each camper will receive a journal and is encouraged to write or draw a little each day. At the end of the week, we'll develop the film (double prints) so campers can share the good times exchanging photos!!
Our camp is not intended to be a structured, instructional session. We spend most of our riding time "on the trail" learning in various circumstances, not always predictable. There are opportunities for all levels of experience. Sessions are designed to suit specific ages and abilities. Most of our campers ride English, but Western gear is welcomed, too. While campers are expected to help with barnyard chores, riding and "horsin' around" is the focus of our daily activities.
Mornings are consumed with our main trailride in the cooler part of the day. We return for our much anticipated home cooked lunch followed by rest time. Hot afternoons are for craft projects, line dancing, or a dip in the pool and certainly our famous "dress-up day", riding through the sprinklers, or maybe some riding games. New ideas are always encouraged. At least once during the week we'll trailride under the stars, ghost stories and all……Spontaneous fun is our specialty!!!
It really IS more than just a riding camp. Our campers make lasting friends and grow in special ways that only happen when they get a chance to challenge themselves in a supportive friendly atmosphere. Returning campers often collaborate to return with friends from last year. Before everyone leaves we circulate an address list so campers can keep in touch with each other all year.
Campers should arrive between 2:00 and 4:00 PM on Sunday. (If your camper is flying, arrangements can be made to pick them up and return them for their flight home.) Pick-up is NOON on Saturday. Families should plan to stay for a fried-chicken lunch and have a chance to meet your camper's new friends (two-legged and four-legged)!!!
A LOVE FOR HORSES AND A COMMITMENT TO FUN REQUIRED!!!!!
